After having a magical year last season, Chris Paul is returning to the Phoenix Suns. The point guard enhanced the team's level, leading them through stages to play for the Larry O'Brien trophy.

It's time to run it back for CP3 and his team, trying to take that final step and win the NBA championship and compete in a Western Conference that will be a lot harder than last season. Paul gets ready for his second season with the team, and although he was linked with a move away from Phoenix, the player never doubted that he would stay with them.

Talking with Jeff Zillgitt of USA Today, the Point God revealed that it was an easy decision to return to Phoenix given all the advantages the team provides on and off the court.

"It was an easy decision,” Paul said. “Not only did I love the basketball aspect, I’m close to family (in Los Angeles) and Phoenix is a family, too. I’m excited to be back there…

“The thing I’m looking forward to now is our approach to the every day,” he continued. “You don’t start the season and get to automatically end up at the Finals again.

"It’s another building process, and I’m excited about going through this experience with these guys because I went as far (in the playoffs) as I’ve ever been. We’ll be on this journey of something new together.”

After a terrific 2020/21 NBA season, the Suns will try to emulate what they did last season, take that final step, and come out of the West again. The job won't be easy since the Los Angeles Lakers, Denver Nuggets, Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers, and more teams improved their roster for this campaign.

CP3 and co. will have a lot of work to do if they aspire to keep their Western Conference title and win the NBA championship.
