A 15-year-old drowned after falling into the Grand River on Saturday, according to police.

The Grand Rapids Police Department said crews responded to Riverside Park around 5 p.m.

The teen was walking along the river and fell into the water, police said.

Rescue crews pulled the victim out of the water and attempted CPR but were unsuccessful, according to officials.

First responders said the teen died.
