The Atlanta Falcons have been around for over 56 years, bringing a lot of memories to fans along the way, some good and some bad. Throughout the decades, the franchise has had several greats suit up in the red, black and white, even if they don’t get the national recognition that they deserve.

On Thursday night as fans welcomed back the return of regular season football with the Buccaneers versus Cowboys game, the Falcons hosted an event displaying the newest addition to Mercedes-Benz Stadium — the Falcons Ring of Honor. Since the team doesn’t officially retire jersey numbers, players are instead immortalized in the Ring of Honor which currently has 11 members: William Andrews, Steve Bartkowski, Tommy Nobis, Jessie Tuggle, Jeff Van Note, Mike Kenn, Claude Humphrey, Deion Sanders, Gerald Riggs, Warrick Dunn and Roddy White.

With the new space in place, the Falcons Ring of Honor will continue adding new members to the exclusive group. White was the most recent inductee back in 2019, and now the team has its sights on figuring out who to add next. Falcons’ team president Rich McKay told ESPN that the team will get fan feedback for the next entrant into the Ring of Honor, with the intent being to offer up a list of names to fans next year. It’s important to note that for players to be inducted, they have to be retired.

So, who should the Falcons put in next? I imagine several names come to mind. I can rattle off several names in no particular order who deserve to be inducted, such as: Matt Bryant, Michael Vick, Todd McClure, Bob Whitfield, Greg Brezina, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez, John Abraham and Morten Andersen. Frankly, that list could go on and on. There’s clearly a lot of former Falcons who made an impact on the franchise and deserve to be in.

Who would you pick to be the next inductee into the Falcons’ Ring of Honor?
