Sept. 11 (UPI) -- The theatrical release of the Mad Max: Fury Road prequel, Furiosa, has been delayed by nearly a year.
Starring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, the post-apocalyptic epic is expected to open on May 27, 2024, instead of June 23, 2023, as planned, Warner Bros. announced Friday.

The studio also said its adaptation of Stephen King's vampire thriller, Salem's Lot, will open Sept. 9, 2022.
The cast of the horror movie includes Alfre Woodard, Lewis Pullman, Makenzie Leigh, Bill Camp, Spencer Treat Clark and William Sadler.
