FHN Today: Florida Panthers rookies on the ice Saturday

Florida panthers rookies

The Florida Panthers will have their rookies hit the ice on Saturday morning as they kick off development camp at the IceDen in Coral Springs.

We will have a lot more on who to watch and what the Panthers will look for right here at FloridaHockeyNow tomorrow.

What we do know is this: The Panthers will have some of their top prospects on the ice (Spencer Knight, Anton Lundell and Grigori Denisenko among them) and the doors will be closed to the public.

Due to the rising number of cases of Covid-19 in Florida — and the IceDen being on the small side and doesn’t have the high-end health certification the arena does — the team did not feel it was right to allow fans in.

We still do not know if the rookie showcase being held next weekend in the Tampa area will be open nor whether training camp will be open, either.

Stay tuned.
