After struggling in the first half, the new Ohio State quarterback racked up an eye-popping five completions for 236 yards and four touchdowns in the second half.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day is encouraged by the resilience Stroud showed and believes the matchup vs. Oregon will be another learning opportunity.

“It’s been kind of a work in progress for awhile,” Day said on College GameDay. “Early on, a couple things didn’t go his way but I thought he stuck with it. He played pretty good the second half. This week is a different challenge for us though. Now we’re at home, different environment and a different challenge,” Day said. “But this is gonna be something that over time there’s gonna be really good plays and things that he learns from. Last week was a start, we’ll see what this week brings.”

Ohio State-Oregon is slated for a noon EST kickoff and will be televised on FOX. Ohio State will wear helmet decals to recognize the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
