Rockstar Games has announced that the new-gen versions of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA: Online have been delayed into March of next year.
A statement on the Rockstar Newswire broke the news following a new trailer shown during the PlayStation Showcase. “While we are extremely excited to be bringing GTAV to the latest generation of consoles, the game requires a few additional months for polishing and fine-tuning. We look forward to sharing more details about these expanded and enhanced versions soon, including the new standalone version of GTA Online also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in March.”
The studio confirms PS Plus owners will still be able to grab the standalone version of GTA: Online free for the first three months after it launches. They’re also extending the offer where subscribers can claim GTA$1 million for free each month until the new launch date.
An upgrade for Rockstar’s 2013 crime sim was first announced back in June of last year. It was originally set to land in November, when it was also announced select vehicles in GTA Online would also get performance enhancements. However, the studio has not detailed exactly what these will be just yet.
