Analogue Pocket pre-order shipping has been delayed yet again, pushing back delivery of the versatile handheld gaming console to the tail end of 2021.
The Analogue Pocket is a handheld gaming console that was first announced in October 2019, less than half a year after Panic's Playdate console was announced. The Analogue Pocket allows you to play handheld video games using the original cartridges thanks to a series of adapters, featuring support for Game Boy handhelds, Game Gear, Neo Geo Pocket, and others.
This handheld gaming console proved to be immensely popular, selling out its entire stock of pre-orders in just 15 minutes last year. (The Playdate, too, sold out all of its pre-orders in a flash despite some serious problems with international shipping at the time.)
Unfortunately, Analogue Pocket pre-order shipping was delayed earlier this year to October 2021. Now, the company behind this interesting gaming device has announced that customers are going to have to wait a little bit longer before they can get it.
Analogue Pocket Pre-Order Shipping Pushed Back Again
The Analogue Pocket pre-order shipping delay was announced earlier today by the company. This second delay means that some customers might have a hard time getting their hands on this console before Christmas.
"Pocket pre-orders will be shipping at the latest in December," read an announcement on Analogue's website (via Reddit). "Unfortunately, due to new Covid restrictions with our assembly partners, their capacity to deliver within our agreed timeframe has been affected. This has created a domino effect of delays beyond our control in what would otherwise be a seamless process."
While this delay is unfortunate, it also comes with some good news: the Analogue Pocket (and all of its accessories) will be restocked after the holiday season, giving customers a second chance to pick one up if they missed the first round of pre-orders.
