ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WFXR) — Don’t miss the last day of the two-day Southwest Virginia Antique Farm Days event, which is continuing for another day on Saturday in the Franklin County Recreation Park, just south of Rocky Mount.
The event is made possible by the Antique Farm Days Club, an organization dedicated to restoring and preserving farm machinery and tools that were used in the agriculture-based society of early southwest Virginia.
During the Southwest Virginia Antique Farm Days event, there will be demonstrations reflecting life in early Southwest Virginia will feature activities such as quilting, sawmilling, operating antique diesel engines, tractor pulls, corn meal grinding, wood turning, antique tractors, hit-n-miss engines, and blacksmithing.
An auction of antique equipment gets underway at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 11. An Antique Tractor Pull will happen Saturday morning, also.
It’s fun for the whole family. General admission is $5. Children, ages 12 and under, get in free.
