NORTH ATTLEBORO — The Bishop Feehan High School football team certainly created a favorable impression upon its family and friends at Community Field at the expense of the Rocketeers of North Attleboro High Friday in the season opener for both teams.

  • Junior running back Nick Yanchuk produced 218 rushing yards on 24 carries, scoring on runs of 18 and 33 yards.
  • Senior quarterback Aidan Crump delivered a true and tested veteran performance by completing six passes for 118 yards.
  • Sophomore kicker Brett McCaffery just may prove to be a trump card for the Shamrocks this season too with his right leg, not only hitting a trio of conversion kicks, but a 40-yard field goal that might still be sailing into South Attleboro.
  • The Shamrock defense turned a trio of interceptions — by Aaron Canuel in the second quarter, by Yanchuk three minutes into the third quarter and by Connor McHale with two minutes left in the session — into 17 points.
  • Add in a most dominating performance by both the offensive and defensive lines with 6-foot-3, 245-pound junior and prime time collegiate prospect Case Mankins hardly ever leaving the field and it all added up to a 24-10 victory for coach Bryan Pinabell and the Shamrocks.
