The flags will be lowered on Saturday, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
“It is with solemn honor we lower the flags out of respect for all of those that lost their lives twenty years ago on September 11, 2001. It is also a day to remember all of those courageous first responders that sacrificed and risked so much to ensure many more lives were saved,” said Governor Sisolak. “I know many Nevadans will join me in reflecting on that day – we can all so vividly remember what we were doing at the time. I was helping my girls get ready for school when we saw the news on the television. As a nation, we grieved together, found strength in one another and found ways to move forward together.”
The United States Congress previously designated the date September 11th as "Patriot Day" on December 18, 2001.
The City of Reno will also hold a ceremony on Saturday's anniversary at the Reno City Plaza.
