Cincinnati Zoo's cheetah Kris still hangs with her companion dog Remus
The Cincinnati Zoo's cheetah Kris is still best friends with her companion dog, Remus.
Kris was born July 7, 2019, at the zoo's breeding facility in Clermont County. She was the lone survivor of a litter of three.
The zoo adopted a dog named Remus as a companion dog for Kris when she was a young cub. The dog has kept Kris company and has taught the cheetah social lessons through play and engagement.

Now, the two are inseparable and were even featured in a show on Disney+.
The zoo posted an update on the pair on Facebook Friday. Zoo officials said 2-year-old Kris and Remus still have sleepovers together most nights and still enjoy playing in the running yard.
"They don’t play with the same kind of energy and enthusiasm as when they were youngsters, but they still enjoy each other’s company," the Cincinnati Zoo wrote in its Facebook post.
Typically, female cheetahs separate from their mothers and siblings at two years old and since Kris is two now, the zoo will continue to monitor her relationship with Remus.
"(Kris and Remus) will stay hanging out together until we see Kris prefers time more on her own than with Remus," the zoo said.
