Those itching to see Marvel’s Eternals or Disney’s Encanto will have to head to the movie theater to do so.
On Friday (September 10), Walt Disney Studios announced plans to release a slew of its most highly anticipated titles exclusively in theaters, instead of opting to offer viewers the alternate option of streaming the titles for an additional fee through the Disney+ Premier Access feature.
As a result, Marvel’s Eternals, the animated family feature Encanto, as well as The Last Duel, West Side Story, Ron’s Gone Wrong, and The King’s Man will all head straight to the big screen, where they will get an exclusive 45 day theatrical release before they’re available to stream.
Variety reports that only exception is Encanto, which hits theaters on November 24. The animated family feature, which features music by Hamilton vet Lin-Manuel Miranda, will receive a 30 day theatrical exclusivity window before heading to Disney+.

News of Disney’s release plans for some of its biggest titles for the rest of the year comes on the heels of the theatrical release of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.
Marvel’s latest offering dominated the box office in its first week of release, and is expected to continue doing well going into this weekend.
With that in mind, so it should probably come as no surprise that the studio is looking to recreate the magic with Marvel’s Eternals, which debuts in theaters on November 5.
As for the other aforementioned titles, moviegoers can look forward to heading to the theaters to catch The Last Duel on October 15, Ron’s Gone Wrong on October 22, West Side Story on December 10, and The King’s Man on December 22.
