MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced on Friday that 27 players will attend the team's rookie camp, which will take place from September 15 to 21 at the Bell Sports Complex in Brossard.

Laval Rocket head coach Jean-François Houle will lead on-ice practices and evaluations at camp, on top of handling all coaching responsibilities during games with his assistants coaches Kelly Buchberger, Martin Laperrière and Marco Marciano. The organization's prospects will also square off against the Ottawa Senators' prospects in a home-and-home series. A game against the USports All-star collegiate players is scheduled on the last day of camp as well. Seminars covering topics such as nutrition, sports psychology, sports science and fitness are also on tap for Canadiens rookies, too. The stands won't be open to the public for both the practices and games.
Among the 27 players participating in camp, there will be 16 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. Thirteen players are Canadiens draft selections, including six players selected by Montreal in the most recent NHL Draft. There are 11 players invited on a tryout basis. The roster includes:

Media availabilities during Rookie Camp
Media availabilities during Rookie Camp will all be conducted virtually. Rocket head coach Jean-François Houle and players will be available to members of the media daily on September 16, 17, 18, and 20. The first media availability will be around 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 15 when Director of Player Development, Rob Ramage, will speak.
Media access and sanitary procedures during Rookie Camp
Wearing a face covering or a procedural mask covering the nose and mouth remains mandatory at all times inside the Bell Sports Complex. The media facilities, including the press gallery and the working room, will now be accessible to journalists on site. Only photographers and cameramen will have access to the stands to work during the practices. Media wishing to stay at the complex to work after the media availabilities will be authorized to do so.
Due to health measures and the very limited number of places available, only two representatives per media outlet will be admitted to cover the camp at the Bell Complex (excluding a photographer or accompanying cameraman). Physical distancing of one meter must be respected at all times. A distance of two meters is required if individuals must remove their mask. Finally, no food service will be available on site.
Vaccination passport
Groupe CH's vaccination policy mandates, as required by the Government of Quebec, that any person over the age of 13 must present a valid vaccination passport in the form of a QR code (which confirms protection deemed adequate against COVID -19) to access the training complex. Individuals who cannot present a valid vaccination passport will not be admitted to the Bell Sports Complex. Proof of photo identification will also be required.
The administration of the Bell Sports Complex will continue to maintain an attendance register and require temperature checks on arrival.
For more information on the terms and conditions surrounding the vaccination passport, consult Government of Quebec website.
The rules mentioned above are subject to change. Updates to the NHL health protocol may be made soon.

The Canadiens' official training camp will get underway on Wednesday, September 22 at the Bell Sports Complex when the players will report for physical and medical tests.
