It is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou has made a good start to life as Celtic manager. While the results on the pitch have been mixed till now, there is cause for a lot of excitement and he has become a fan favourite at Parkhead quickly.

When the appointment was made, most people did not know what to expect from Postecoglou. Since then though, we have seen the club move forward in a positive direction and play some fantastic football. And now, the majority of the fans feel that Postecoglou is the man to take Celtic back to the top of the Scottish Premiership.

While the Hoops were knocked out from the UEFA Champions League qualifiers early on, they did very well to reach the group stages of the Europa League. There was also a brilliant six-game winning streak in the middle when the club managed to outscore their opposition 24 to 4.

Postecoglou believes that the team now have the opportunity to progress further. While speaking on Celtic’s official YouTube channel and as reported by 67 Hail Hail, the manager said:

"“In general, it’s about just progressing our football. The first part of the season was okay. We definitely showed some real good parts of our game and some real promise. Ultimately, we fell short in a couple of areas.“This next block of games gives us the opportunity to progress our football and, with the new players coming in, to hopefully take it to the next level.”"

Postecoglou believes Celtic have the opportunity to progress further

Postecoglou spoke to the media before the departure of Dom McKay was announced. So naturally, no questions regarding the matter were raised. And it will be interesting to see the direction of the club moving forward following the Chief Executive’s exit. One thing that Celtic must do is give Postecoglou the backing that he needs.

On the pitch, there has been a lot to be excited about since the start of the campaign. The squad is not the deepest though and it will be interesting to see if they can keep performing at this level throughout the course of the season.

We have already seen that Kyogo Furuhashi has suffered an injury which is expected to keep him out for a while. And it remains to be seen who starts up top in the Japanese star’s absence.
