Tom Selleck has another item to add to his ever-growing list of accomplishments!

Last month, CBS quietly published a press release with some pretty big news. Now, in addition to Kevin Wade, Ian Biederman, Brian Burns, Siobhan Byrne-O’Connor, and Dan Truly, Tom, who plays Frank Reagan, is listed as an executive producer of Blue Bloods.

Having been part of the cast since the show’s debut on September 24, 2010, we can’t say that we’re all that surprised by the news (in fact, we’re more surprised that he wasn’t already an EP). After all, if anyone knows how to make the cop procedural even better, it’s the man who made his acting debut in one of the most beloved investigative series to ever grace our screens (for those that are a bit too young for that reference, we’re nodding toward Tom’s role in Magnum, P.I.).

Still, this is exciting news. As an executive producer, Tom will have more say in what avenues the show takes. While he still won’t have a say over the writers, his new role will at least give him more influence. So, who knows, maybe that means viewers can expect a relationship between Danny and Baez after all (okay, probably not, but we can wish, right?).
