DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – The Legacy Fire that was sparked by lightning in the Kaysville/Farmington area on Friday has now been 75% contained, according to Utah Fire Info.
Fire personnel will continue to monitor the area for any hot spots or new flames.
Officials do not have an updated estimate regarding the burned acreage at this time. Drones will be sent later this week to fly over and map the burn area for a more accurate look at the impact.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – The Legacy Fire that was sparked by lightning in the Kaysville/Farmington area on Friday has dissipated greatly as of Saturday morning.
The Kaysville Fire Department credits the strong winds and rainstorms that hit the area last night for putting out most of the blaze. Fire officials say the rain even cleared out smoke that was hanging around the Davis County area.
Around 7 p.m. on Friday night, over 8,000 customers were without power in the Layton/Farmington area, due to fire damage of power lines. Power has since been restored to all residents.
“No property damage has been reported from the fire,” officials say. “There were also no civilian or firefighter injuries.”
Crews and personnel from both Kaysville Fire and Farmington Fire will remain in the area to monitor any new hot spots or fire starts.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – The Legacy Fire grew to an estimated size of 300 acres, according to fire officials. Utah Fire Info says no structures are currently threatened despite the growing flames.
Fire crews on the scene say there are no current evacuations, but are warning homeowners to be ready if the weather pushes the fire east.
The Legacy Fire is burning in areas that are inaccessible to crews. The dirt present in the wetlands will cause wildfire trucks to get stuck.
More than 8,000 residents suffered a power outage around 7 p.m. Rocky Mountain Power is investigating the cause to determine whether it is related to the Legacy Fire.
Late Friday night, a rainstorm helped smother the fire and push it back west, giving crews a much-needed advantage as they hope to keep the blaze away from homes.
Firefighters will continue monitoring the fire overnight. Crews plan to release the fire acreage and containment size on Saturday.

DAVIS COUNTY, Utah (ABC4) – Fire officials have named the fire currently burning near Kaysville/Farmington as the “Legacy Fire.”
Officials say the fire is currently burning in Davis County near the Farmington Bay area.
The fire’s size is estimated to be around 200 acres.
Multiple fire crews and resources are currently at the scene battling the blaze.

FARMINGTON, Utah (ABC4) – A fire has broken out near the wetlands west of Kaysville and Farmington on Friday afternoon, officials say.
The fire started around 3 p.m on Friday and is located near 783 North Rifleman in Farmington.
The Kaysville Fire Department and the Farmington Fire Department are currently responding to the blaze.
Fire officials believe the fire was caused by lightning.
The flames are not currently threatening any structures at this time.
