Manchester City travel to Leicester on Saturday afternoon on the back of two successive 5-0 victories, knowing that a third straight Premier League win will take them into the top four.

But the same can be said of Leicester, who are level on points with the blues, but players lower due to an inferior goal difference.

The blues have a good record at Leicester, having lost just two of their seventeen matches in all competitions since 1988. City have won 10 of those meetings, which have included three FA Cup and three League Cup ties.

The last time City lost at Leicester was December 2018, when a late Ricardo Pereira goal won the match after Marc Albrighton had cancelled out Bernardo Silva’s 14th minute opener.

There have been 60 games played at Leicester in all competitions, and both teams have won 22 apiece. There have been 6 goalless draws in this fixture, with the last coming in December 2015.

City have kept 14 clean sheets at Leicester, and have failed to score on 17 occasions.

The blues longest unbeaten run in this fixture stretches over 10 matches, between November 1988 and December 2015. Strangely, that run started and ended with goalless draws. The blues won five of their visits during that run. Their longest winning streak came between September 1934-September 1954, when the bleus won five straight league wins in both the first and second division.

The blues longest winless streak is 4 matches, all of which they lost. This has happened on two occasions – between March 1929 and September 1931 and March 1967 to August 1968.

City’s heaviest defeat at Leicester came in February 1958, when the blues were hammered 8-4 at Filbert Street. Their biggest victory was 4-1 in January 1938.

In the Premier League era City have scored 14 from 10 league matches, with Leicester scoring just 8 over the same period.

City have visited the home of the Foxes 9 times in the month of September, with City winning 4 and Leicester coming out on top just twice with three draws. They have never met on 11th September at Leicester.

Jamie Vardy has scored 8 goals in 10 league games against City, and has scored two hat-tricks for against the blues, his first coming at the King Power Stadium in December 2016.

Gabriel Jesus has scored five goals against Leicester.

Jack Grealish scored his first ever goal for Aston Villa against Leicester.

If City win on Saturday, they will record three consecutive league victories at Leicester for the first time since August 1946.

If they lose, it will be the first time City have lost their first two away games of a new season since 2006.
