(670 The Score) Because of the chaos of the Cubs’ sell-off and the fact that he sat out his final game with the organization, Kris Bryant didn’t receive much of a farewell from the Wrigley Field faithful before he was traded from Chicago to the San Francisco Giants in late July.

On Friday, the Cubs and their fans made up for that. Before the Giants opened a three-game series at Wrigley Field, the Cubs played a tribute video for Bryant, who wiped away tears as he also got a thunderous ovation from the fans. The Cubs then gifted Bryant a No. 17 tile from the iconic Wrigley Field scoreboard and a blue championship flag.

Bryant, 29, spent his first six-and-a-half MLB seasons with the Cubs, debuting in 2015 after he was drafted No. 2 overall in 2013. He won the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2015 and MVP honors in 2016 in leading the Cubs to a World Series title, their first in 108 years. Bryant was a four-time All-Star with the Cubs.
