America has become a nation of sheep

America has become a nation of sheep

I decided to bypass the article I was dead set on writing about the president and his mess in Afghanistan. Whenever I think about it or write about it, I boil over and go to a very negative place.

Instead, let’s talk about living a servant’s life. The Bible says in Galatians 5:13, “For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.”

We could take this passage in so many ways. But the way I have been thinking about it lately is, freedom is a precious gift bought with the blood of Jesus Christ in the spiritual sense, and our physical freedom was also bought at the high cost of those soldiers and patriots who sacrificed their blood and lives so we could enjoy the freedoms we do in this country.

With such a high price paid for both freedoms, I believ it would be a shame, to say the least, if we did not act as servants both to our fellow community members and to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Be the good servant and go to God in prayer in all things, good or bad, sing praise and worship God when you can and especially on Sundays when you can fellowship with your fellow brothers and sisters. Study the Bible regularly, learn God’s plan and good news. The Bible is full of answers. So, if you just study, take the time to read. Remember God works in his own time when giving prayer requests.

Let us use our freedom as Americans to serve one another. The price was high, our precious freedom. We were bought with the blood of our patriots. By serving one another, I mean help your neighbors and other community members. If someone is in need, lend a hand. If someone is sad, make them happy. If someone is hungry, feed them.

Texoma Gives is Sept. 9, which, if my cyphering is correct, is today. So, if you cannot give financially, donate your time, help spread the word to those that might give, and give throughout the year when you can.

Let’s be servants to the community and help those around us that need our help.

This is Will B saying,

BE YOUR BROTHER’S KEEPER.
