Drew Brees goes viral for ‘new hair’ during broadcast debut

Drew Brees is one day into his broadcast career, and he’s already going viral.

The former Saints quarterback joined the NBC Sports crew — ahead of Tampa Bay’s season-opening win against the Cowboys on Thursday night — but his apparent “new hair” stole the spotlight.

Fans on social media were surprised to see Brees with a fuller head of hair, and noticed that his “hairline” has seemingly drastically improved in post-retirement life.

“What if I told you the greatest comeback in Drew Brees’ career wasn’t on the field, but on his head?” one fan tweeted, adding a side-by-side photo of Brees as a Saint, and now an analyst.

Another critic tweeted, “Drew Brees has clearly been spending his retirement, um, growing his hair, um, for television.”

NFL insider, Field Yates joined in on the hair takes and tweeted, “Drew Brees’ hair for NFL Comeback Player of the Year.”

Brees announced his retirement in March after the 2020-21 season, following 15 years as quarterback in New Orleans.

The Super Bowl champion will be part of “Football Night in America” before the Sunday primetime game and will serve as a game analyst next to Mike Tirico on Notre Dame games.
