It’s always every breaker’s dream to pull a NBA card banger out of nowhere. Whether it’s a low-population parallel of a hot rookie or a top star, the goal is always to land that insane card no matter what. But in the case of this card breaker in the Philippines, things certainly got crazier than expected.

In a post shared by Card Hub on Facebook, Chaboi’s Box Break broke open an entire case of Panini’s 2020-21 Spectra set. The said product contains eight hobby boxes per case, four packs per box, and four cards for each pack. A single hobby box costs $1,500 on eBay and contains an average of four autographs in it.

During the break itself, one of the first autographed NBA cards was hidden and slowly revealed. As it was being done, the top section containing the signature was shown to be done by Luka Doncic himself.

All the suspense generated by the top reveal died down as the rest of the card was shown. The player on it was Otto Porter Jr. in his Chicago Bulls uniform and not Doncic. Turns out, Panini made an error of placing Doncic’s stickered autograph on the wrong card.

Speaking to ClutchPoints, the breaker said that he was in shock because that would have been the first time he pulled a Luka Doncic autographed card. But like the rest of those who watched the video, that excitement quickly turned into a great disappointment for him.

Apparently, the story didn’t end there. During the latter half of the Spectra case break, his dream of pulling that monster Doncic card finally became a reality. It came in the form of a Spectra In The Zone Meta 7/15 Auto with a sticker signature of the Dallas Mavericks’ All-Star himself. As it turns out, that wicked Luka Doncic pull did come out, one way or another.

There have been a lot of unbelievable stories about the NBA card hobby during the past year or so. A good chunk of them can be found from those who do box breaks for collectors. Without a doubt, this one by Chaboi’s Box Breaks is definitely a break worth talking about.
