Chelsea star Christian Pulisic sidelined 10 days after suffering injury with USMNT during World Cup qualifiers

Thomas Tuchel said Friday that Christian Pulisic returned to Chelsea this week on crutches but expects the winger to be sidelined for just 10 days, according to ESPN's James Olley.

Pulisic limped off the field in the United States' 4-1 World Cup qualifying win over Honduras on Wednesday after 62 minutes. He entered the game with an ankle issue and injured it further by playing.

"For Christian, unfortunately he came yesterday on crutches and he has an ankle injury with about 10 days [out]," Tuchel said.

The 22-year-old will miss Chelsea's Premier League clash against Aston Villa on Saturday as well as the club's Champions League match against Zenit St. Petersburg on Tuesday.

Pulisic has played in one game for Chelsea this season, scoring one goal. He has been with the club since the 2019-20 season.

In addition to Pulisic, Chelsea is without N'Golo Kante, who is dealing with an ankle injury, this weekend. The club also doesn't know the status of Thiago Silva as talks with FIFA continue after Chelsea refused to release the defender for Brazil's matches.

Chelsea is 2-1-0 on the season.
