Dwight Howard reacts to DeAndre Jordan officially joining Lakers

DeAndre Jordan became the latest player to join the Los Angeles Lakers after signing a one-year deal with the franchise.

Jordan spent the last two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets but fell out of the rotation as the 2020-21 season advanced. Brooklyn tried negotiating a buyout with Jordan, but those plans fell through.

The Nets later traded Jordan to the Detroit Pistons, where he wouldn’t stay because Detroit wanted to buy him out.

As soon as the buyout became official, the Lakers were immediately seen as contenders for his signature.

Now a Laker, Jordan is the third center on the roster behind Dwight Howard, who returned to the team after a year, and Marc Gasol, who isn’t a lock to return.

But Howard and Jordan will don the purple and gold this season, and Howard took to Instagram to react to Jordan’s arrival:

Howard will likely have a bigger role between the two given his familiarity with the system and players, while Jordan will provide depth as a backup option.
