Singer, actor, The Voice judge, perfumer... Ariana Grande does it all, and now she's adding another accomplishment to her list: beauty entrepreneur. Ariana just broke the news that her beauty line, r.e.m. beauty, is officially on its way and we can't wait.

We first learned about a potential line from the singer earlier this summer. However, r.e.m.beauty isn't a new project for Ari. She recently told Allure that she's been working on the line for more than two years. According to Ariana, only a small, select group of people knew what she was up to and had access to the products-in-progress — and keeping the experience a secret was tough at times. “Coveting the secret for the past two years and having testers and samplers in my purse, and people asking me, ‘Oh, I love your highlight, what are you wearing?’ And me being like, ‘I don’t know', sweating,’” she explained. "It was so hard to keep a secret for this long.”

Ari also told Allure that r.e.m. beauty will operate via drops of products, starting with eyes; this makes total sense, as Ariana loves experimenting with eyeliner. “[Eyes are] our main gateways to our dreams, our emotions, our everything,” she told Allure. “They’re our main storytellers and sources of communication. I feel like you can emote more with your eyes than you can articulate sometimes.” Drop one will include "fine-point eyeliner markers, liquid eye shadows in a range of matte shades, glittering toppers that sparkle like nebulae, and at least one mascara." We'll also get to try out stain-like lip glosses that tingle (i.e. plumping glosses). False lashes will eventually be part of the collection, too.

While the r.e.m. beauty products are fully, totally modern, they pay homage to the throwback aesthetic Ariana loves and recreates with her own signature beauty look. “I’ve always sort of gravitated towards the ‘50s and ‘60s and ‘70s for glamour references,” she said “I’ve always pictured myself in a different time period. I’ve always wanted to wear that makeup, wear that hair, wear those outfits, be those performers.”

Is Ari worried about r.e.m. beauty finding its audience in a market flooded with celebrity beauty lines? It's definitely crossed her mind, but she believes there's room for everyone. “I’ve thought a lot about this, of course, because I don’t want to just hop onto any bandwagons ever," she explained. "I think that... I wear my peers’ makeup as well, just like I listen to their music. I’m not going to say, ‘Oh, there’s too many female artists.’ I love and I’m [a] huge fan of my peers that do both, and I think that it’s just another way to tell stories. Because you can never have enough makeup, just like you can never have enough music.”

r.e.m. beauty launches this fall, so stay tuned to their social channels so you don't miss out!
