The Best Jewellery At The Venice Film Festival 2021
As the Venice Film festival draws to a close, it’s time to look back on almost a fortnight of knock ’em dead jewellery. Zendaya’s Bulgari necklace is perhaps the most memorable moment of all. It featured a whopping 93 carat Colombian emerald in the jaws of one of the Maison’s forbidding serpents, and managed to compete for attention with even her wet-look Balmain gown.
Vintage was the order of the day for Isabelle Huppert, who wore a Cartier collar and matching cuffs featuring the Maison’s stalking panther, and also Kirsten Dunst, who glowed in Victorian gold and citrine drops from Fred Leighton. Penélope Cruz, meanwhile, made a strong case for the eternal appeal of Chanel chic with a selection of earrings that ranged from delicate diamond drops to shoulder-skimming pearls.

Off the red carpet, there was also plenty of time to be photographed boating round the Venice canals in daytime jewels. Cruz chose matching Maltese cross cuffs, a signature look of Coco Chanel herself. Cynthia Erivo, whose passion for jewellery comes through in her every ensemble, wore a tumble of her own charms for her first appearance as part of the Festival jury, and Timothée Chalamet boosted his Haider Ackermann hoodie with an exquisite Cartier Art Deco-inspired beetle brooch made in 1999.
