I am the “coffee enthusiast” the headlines refers to. I drink this stuff daily. For a while now, I have been on the hunt for the best cold brew coffee makers in the market. Do not get me wrong, a hot cup of coffee is great and a latte makes me feel cozy, but I am the president, VP, and secretary of the “Enjoy-Cold-Brew-Year-Round" club.
While caffeine content in coffee is extremely varied, cold brew is often made as a concentrate that should be diluted and has that smooth finish without the acidity thanks to the brewing process. Unfortunately, my wallet does not support the spending habit of shelling out a daily $4-$5 at my local coffee shop.
Luckily, cold brew is laughably easy to make once you nail the technique. I used to be a barista in college and post, and basically, the TL;DR for making cold brew is that you soak coffee grinds in cold water for 12-18 hours and then strain it. We made it in literal buckets, but when you are making it for just yourself, there are a handful of cold brew coffee makers that make enjoying your daily dose of caffeine at home super easy.

After it is finished brewing, you press the coffee grounds firmly, fill up a mason jar with some ice, grab your reusable straw, and enjoy while playing the drums or with your cats. Our queen also has Cold Brew Bags for the laziest among us. With these, you just drop in any pitcher with some water and let steep in the fridge overnight. Now, this sells out constantly, so if you want a similar cold brew press maker Bodum's plastic one is great too and under $20.
TAKEYA Patented Deluxe Cold Brew Coffee Maker
This one is Amazon’s favorite with nearly 45,000 reviews. The pitcher produces 4 servings of cold brew or (one very big cup hehe). The brewing process here involves adding your coffee grounds to a fine mesh coffee filter and filling the rest of the pitcher with water to steep in your fridge. It is dishwasher safe making it super easy to clean and does not use any paper filters so you never need to worry about running out of those.
County Line Kitchen - Cold Brew Mason Jar Coffee Maker
Another favorite on Amazon, this is very similar to the TAKEYA Cold Brew Coffee Maker but instead of just a normal pitcher, it is a cute glass mason jar with a fancy lid and filter. You put your coffee grounds in the filter and steep overnight in the fridge. The lid and filter can technically be added to any bigger Mason jar so after making one batch you can just put a lid on and make another batch with another jar, just in case you were really planning your week out.
Oxo Cold Brew Coffee Maker
Now we are getting serious. This cold brew maker really tells people you are not messing around because it is going to sit proudly on your counter. It is the best purchase for those who are looking for something concentrated with minimal sediment due to the brewing process. This maker uses a “rainmaker” lid that basically mimics a watering can, distributing the water over your coffee grounds, encouraging them to bloom into the best cold brew for you. After the brewing process, the coffee drains into a flask that looks like it was stolen from your high school chem class and you are ready to enjoy a cup rivaling your favorite coffee shop.
Hario Cold Brew Coffee Bottle
This was my first cold brew maker. Hario is a Japanese company that has been making simple and great quality coffee accessories for 100 years. This bottle is simple in design and compact for all the small fridges out there. You add the grounds to the mesh basket, add the water, put the lid on, and give the bottle a little shake so all the grounds and the water get to know each other. The next day, roughly two servings of cold brew waiting for you to enjoy.
Primula Burke Deluxe Cold Brew Iced Coffee Maker
This uses the same method as many of the other makers on this list but is roughly the price of only five café cold brews. You put the grounds in the mesh basket, add the water, and come back tomorrow. The filter is fine enough that it really cuts down on the amount of sediment in the end product. Sediment gives the coffee that gritty mouthfeel and can really start your day on the wrong foot. Plus, the maker is dishwasher safe, making for effortless cleanup.
