Expected, but still — woooo!

Tottenham Hotspur have something to be excited about as they get ready to travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday. The Premier League announced its monthly award winners, and Tottenham’s manager Nuno Espirito Santo was honored with the Premier League Manager of the Month award for August.

It’s completely expected. Despite there being only three league matches in August, Nuno’s Spurs was the only club that won all of them, and Tottenham also didn’t concede a single goal during that stretch. Spurs are top of the table going into matchweek 4 and can continue their strong start to the league with a win on Saturday.

It’s the first time a Spurs manager has won Manager of the Month since that other guy back in November of 2020. This is the fourth time that Nuno has won it — three times with Wolves dating as far back as 2018 — which puts him into a tie with Mauricio Pochettino. Everyone has a long way to go to catch Alex Ferguson, who won it a staggering 27 times during his long career.

Elsewhere, Eric Dier was passed over for Player of the Month for August, with the award going to West Ham’s Michail Antonio.
