The next entry in the world's most popular football franchise is just around the corner, with FIFA 22 set for release on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The general release date is currently set for Friday, October 1, but if you purchase the FIFA 22 Ultimate Edition, you will get early access to the game four days early on Monday, September 27.
EA's popular footie sim looks to be getting a whole host of new features and improvements to set it apart from the last game, and the new generation of consoles like PS5 and Xbox Series X will be receiving a bunch of exclusive upgrades that are only available on those systems.
FIFA 22 is really pushing the technical advancements from previous entries – thanks to the new generation of powerful hardware on PS5 and Xbox Series X, the game will include all new HyperMotion Technology, an advanced motion capture system that tracks the movements and actions of all players on the pitch during the game, resulting in over 4000 new animations.
Other PS5 and Xbox Series X exclusive advancements include a new level of realism for player response due to Tactical A.I, a new flow system that writes new animations in real-time to better adjust ball control and running cadence, an enhanced player technology sync for cleaner and better kinetic air battles, composed ball control and better player humanization that shows opponents talk, point and direct each other based on the action to make it more immersive than ever.
It wouldn't be FIFA without the inclusion of the popular modes the franchise is known for – FIFA 22's career mode will feature a Create Your Club option, where you can pick a name, emblem, and even design your own stadium. Other improvements include better Player Career implementation and more updated and better sequences for the dressing room and contract negotiations.
Ultimate Team is back with FUT 22, with changes and improvements for Division Rivals, FUT Champions, a public co-op squad option, a new user interface, new stadium customisation options where you can add a VIP area to your ground and all-new FUT Heroes cards, which include legendary players such as Robbie Keane and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who you can add to your squad.
Other modes include an improved Pro Clubs mode, which now has drop-in co-op with friends for up to four teammates. There will also be a Volta Football mode – FIFA 22's fun arcade Street style mode that has a new skill meter system, signature abilities and party game tournaments that include fun events for friends to play together like dodgeball, foot tennis, corner scramble, disco lava and more.
