Last Friday morning, the National Hockey League and National Hockey League Players’ Association jointly announced that they have reached an agreement with the International Ice Hockey Federation to have NHL players participate in the upcoming 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. The NHL and NHLPA do have a possibility to reserve the right to withdraw from the Olympics if any evolving COVID-19 conditions are deemed by the players to be too impractical or unsafe.

That being said, with the recent COVID-19 protocols announced by the NHL last week, any players who decide to opt out of the season because of any reservations about protocols or vaccines cannot compete in the Olympics anyways, so it hopefully should not be much of an issue.

With the announcement, multiple people have started to project what each international roster will look like when it comes time to select the teams that will vie for the long-awaited gold medal. Most, if not all, teams will have some sort of representation at the 24th edition of the Winter Olympics, and the Philadelphia Flyers will surely have some personnel in attendance.

Today we’ll take a look at which Flyers will be under consideration to represent their teams and countries, whether as roster locks or as players on the outside looking in.
