Jefferson city officials are continuing to seek community feedback about a major road project.

City Administrator Mike Palmer says an informational meeting was recently held for the West Lincoln Way project from Highway 4 to Grimmell Road. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio the project includes resurfacing the road and looking to provide a more pedestrian-friendly area with wider sidewalks and narrower streets. Palmer talks about the overall comment that was made at a public meeting last month.

“A lot of the thoughts had been centered around, and been addressed, is to make sure the tree canopy is maintained. There’s a lot of beautiful trees along Lincoln Way. The people attending were pretty clear on that. I think the City going into that too, they were making every effort to preserve everything they could.”

Palmer notes this is a multi-year process and there are several proposed options on display now at City Hall. He also encourages any community feedback that will be taken into consideration when the final conceptuals are made.
