Southampton are still looking for their first win and to claw their way up from the bottom third of the table. They only eked out a draw against Newcastle through a 96th-minute penalty from James Ward-Prowse. Ralph Hasenhuttl's side will have to do much better than that against soaring West Ham. That might be an even tougher task with midfielder Stuart Armstrong likely out due to injury.

As for the Hammers, they come to St. Mary's on a surge of confidence thanks to two wins and one disappointing draw against Crystal Palace. David Moyes has plenty of options in attack, with Michail Antonio in excellent form and new signees Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic both on the bench and poised to make their debuts with the team.

Here's how they line up:

Southampton: McCarthy, Livramento, Stephens, Salisu, Perraud, Elyounoussi, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Djenepo, Redmond, Armstrong

West Ham United: Fabianski, Coufal, Dawson, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Soucek, Rice, Bowen, Fornals, Benrahma, Antonio
