Kennedy (1-1) was charged with the blown save and the loss Thursday against the Rockies. He allowed three runs on four hits while striking out one batter in two-thirds of an inning.

After retiring the first two batters he faced, Kennedy allowed a single to Colton Welker and then served up back-to-back homers to Ryan McMahon and Sam Hilliard. Manager Joe Girardi gave his closer a vote of confidence. "We look at it everyday, but he's our closer," Girardi told Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer after the game. "He's had some big saves for us and tough saves for us. Tonight, he was one strike away. I don't think he's not capable of doing it because I've seen him do it. He just didn't do it tonight."
