NEW HAVEN, Conn. - This weekend marks the start of fall competition for the Yale Coed Sailing Team after a long year and a half off the water. The Coed team will compete in two regattas - the Harry Anderson Trophy and the Pine Trophy.Â
The Harry Anderson Trophy, hosted by Yale, will bring together the most competitive teams in NEISA to sail in 420s and FJs. On Saturday, sailors will enjoy 8-10 knots of breeze from the South. On Sunday, Bulldogs will hike hard, facing a windy 13-22 knots from the South.Â
The Pine Trophy will send Bulldog Sailors Jack Egan, Christophe Chaumont, Nathan Sih, and Nicholas Davies to the Coast Guard Academy to compete in J70s. This big boat regatta will allow the Bulldogs an opportunity to qualify for the Match Race New Englands. On Saturday, the sailors will face 8-10 knots of wind. Sunday will be very breezy with the Bulldogs exerting their strength through 15-30 knots of heavy breeze.Â
