Jaguars injury report: CB Tyson Campbell remains a limited participant in practice

After surfacing on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ first injury report from Wednesday, cornerback Tyson Campbell was a limited participant on Thursday’s practice with a calf injury. He was joined on the report by fellow cornerback Tre Herndon, who will miss Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans with an MCL sprain he sustained Week 1 of the preseason.

Campbell was also limited Wednesday, too, and Jags coach Urban Meyer said he’d be ready to roll in Sunday’s game earlier in the week.

Campbell was drafted with the 33rd overall pick by the Jags this April and the team had been using him mostly at nickelback in training camp. That trend could continue in Sunday’s game, or the Jags could lean on their fifth cornerback Chris Claybrooks if they want a more experienced player.

With Herndon out, the Jags only have four corners on their 53-man roster and will likely turn to their practice squad for another body. That could be either Brandon Rusnak or Lorenzo Burns, both of whom spent time in training camp with the Jags.

As for the Texans’ injury report, everything was the same as it was on Wednesday, aside from linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis being downgraded to a DNP (did not practice) status.
