The NBA “News of the Week” and quite honestly, the key storyline of the offseason revolves around Ben Simmons and what the Philadelphia 76ers are going to do with him.

After losing in the Eastern Conference Semifinals to the Atlanta Hawks, Ben Simmons took a lot of the blame for his team’s departure from the playoffs because of his inability to be effective on offense.

Not being able to shoot and being passive at times on offense has long been a problem with Simmons, but it never seems like the 76ers are looking to help him be more comfortable in their offense.

Now, the Sixers have been offering him up in trade packages all offseason long and have been fielding numerous offers for him, but they have yet to reach an agreement to deal Simmons away due to the fact that no other team in the league wants to pay their price.

The Philadelphia 76ers want an All-Star-level player back in return for Ben Simmons, but the problem that exists is that there are virtually no other All-Stars available right now. The Sixers want Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal ideally for their 3x All-Star, but neither of these guys really seem like a realistic option right now.

So where do the 76ers go from here, especially since Ben Simmons clearly wants out of his current situation, as does his agent Rich Paul?

The Minnesota Timberwolves remain a team that is highly interested in Ben Simmons, even though they do not have the assets the Sixers want in return for him, but the New Orleans Pelicans may have a player Philadelphia would be interested in if he is available.
