DeAndre Jordan is no longer a member of the Brooklyn Nets, which means all the news surrounding his tenure with the team is finally coming to light.

One interesting tidbit is that Jordan allegedly made a specific demand to Nets head coach Steve Nash. The Athletic's Alex Schiffer made a recent appearance on Jake Fischer's Bleacher Report live show wherein he discussed the veteran big man.

The Nets reporter revealed that before the James Harden trade, DeAndre Jordan was adamant that he deserved to start over young center Jarrett Allen.

DeAndre Jordan actually did begin the season as the Brooklyn Nets' starter, but after seven games and a mediocre 3-4 record, Steve Nash made the switch to go with Allen over Jordan. The veteran could have very possibly made the demand then, though that has not been confirmed.

The problem eventually sorted itself out, though: The Nets shipped Jarrett Allen away as part of the James Harden deal. Jordan ended up starting in 43 out of 57 games played for the season, getting all the minutes he could handle.

However, he underperformed enough that Nash didn't even include him as part of the playoff rotation, instead opting for a combination of Blake Griffin, Jeff Green, and occasionally Kevin Durant at center.

Even with the opportunity he asked for and his center competition gone, DeAndre Jordan played zero minutes in the Nets' entire playoff run and was eventually traded.

However, despite being somewhat exposed for no longer being the player he once was, he did end up on the Los Angeles Lakers. Yet, it's possible that they signed him only to get some inside intel on the Nets should they eventually butt heads in the 2022 NBA Finals.
