Brandon Swartz has been named St. Scholastica’s interim baseball coach, the college announced Thursday.

Swartz, a Hermantown native, played for the Saints from 2004-07. He has been a full-time assistant for the CSS baseball program the past six seasons and part of the coaching staff for nine seasons.

Swartz replaces Kevin Ritsche, who resigned in August.

“Brandon has been steadfast in his loyalty to the Saints Baseball program and to the college and has shown great kaizen over the years," interim athletic director Merissa Edwards said in a release. “I am excited to see where this program will go under his leadership.”
