While Celtic’s squad could still do with a bit more depth in certain positions, the club must certainly be happy with the additions that they have made over the course of the summer considering the circumstances.

The club have brought in a number of players who can have an instant impact on the first-team while some others might need some developing.

Overall, the Hoops have signed twelve players, with ten of them arriving on a permanent basis and two on loan. An option to buy has been included in both those deals though.

Now, Ange Postecoglou has a double decision to make on his hands surrounding the club’s full-back positions. At right-back, he has two brilliant options to pick from in the form of Josip Juranovic and Anthony Ralston. While at left-back, Greg Taylor might have some competition in the form of Liam Scales, with Boli Bolingoli not having featured this season till now.

Postecoglou has Celtic double decision to make

Heading into the season, right-back was considered one of the areas that the Hoops were weak in. But that appears to have changed significantly by now.

Ralston has been in brilliant form this season and appears to be undroppable at the moment. But in Juranovic, the club have a Croatian international right-back, who did pretty well on his debut for the Hoops, against the Rangers, considering he played the game at left-back. Thus, it will be interesting to see who Postecoglou picks as his first-choice right-back once things settle in a bit.

On the other flank, Taylor could be competing with Scales, who has arrived from Shamrock Rovers and is capable of playing in a number of positions throughout the backline.

Taylor has been with the Hoops for a few seasons now but has never quite been able to nail down the left-back position. Scales could certainly prove to be solid competition in the position, considering he was one of the best players in League of Ireland before joining Celtic this summer.
