Flying Squirrels 3, RubberDucks 1

Peyton Battenfield delivered a solid start but could not figure out how to retire Richmond third baseman David Villar in a road loss on Wednesday.

Battenfield (2-1) went 5⅓ innings, allowing three earned run on seven hits and one walk. He struck out six but took his first loss as a RubberDuck.

Villar doubled and homered for the Flying Squirrels (53-50), driving in all three runs.

The Ducks' (68-41) lone run came on a double by Jose Fermin that scored Brayan Rocchio in the fourth innings
