The Philadelphia 76ers continue to explore trades for Ben Simmons, with the player himself even saying he will refuse to show up to training camp if he's not moved. The Sixers want a superstar in return though, which does seem unlikely at this point. Nevertheless, the entire Simmons saga has brought a savage take from NBA legends Charles Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal. Yikes:

Chuck made sure to point out that Simmons is being selfish for saying he doesn't want to play for the Sixers anymore just because they've asked him to improve his game. Shaq on the other hand, went absolutely in, telling the Aussie he's “just not that good”.

The NBA on TNT duo has a point, though. Simmons should be simply taking it upon himself to become a better shooter, which is going to help him become more of an offensive threat on the floor. The Sixers were hoping to get Bradley Beal or Damian Lillard in a package for the 25-year-old as well, but both players are currently content in DC and Portland, respectively.

Philly has been in talks with Minnesota about a trade for Simmons, but they frankly aren't willing to give up pieces that would attract the Sixers to pull off a blockbuster. That being said, it looks like Ben Simmons is going to stay put. Maybe he should take Shaq and Barkley's opinion, though. Come back better and stronger and the rest will take care of itself. The drama will disappear if he lives up to expectations with the Sixers this season.
