Justin Hartley’s Exciting New Role Revealed!

Tags:

With THIS IS US coming to an end, Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) won’t be out of work for very long — he will be executive producing and starring in the new drama pilot THE NEVER GAME for CBS! Ken Olin will also be executive producing and directing the pilot from a script from Michael Cooney.

“I couldn’t be happier that THE NEVER GAME is coming to CBS and that Colter Shaw will be brought to life on screen soon,” Hartley said in a statement. “When I read the book, I was immediately drawn to the character and the story; developing this project with Ken has been a true labor of love. Colter is going to kick some serious ass, and I can’t wait for audiences to meet him.”

THE NEVER GAME is based on the bestselling novel by Jeffrey Deaver and features Hartley starring as lone-wolf survivalist Colter Shaw who roams the country as a “reward seeker,” using his expert tracking skills to help citizens and lawn enforcement solve mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.

Hartley got his big break playing Fox Crane on NBC’s supernatural soap PASSIONS, then made numerous primetime appearances in series like SMALLVILLE, REVENGE, and MISTRESSES before returning to daytime in 2014 as the new Adam Newman on Y&R. He exited the CBS soap in 2016 to star as Kevin Pearson on the critically-acclaimed NBC primetime series THIS IS US.

THE NEVER GAME also has another soap connection as bestselling author Jeffrey Deaver made an appearance on his favorite daytime drama, AS THE WORLD TURNS, back in 2003. (He played a tabloid reporter who tried to blackmail a serial killer played by DYNASTY’s John James, which went about as well as you might expect!) Currently, THE NEVER GAMES has a pilot production commitment, so keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for additional casting news about the show, when it might air, and if CBS picks it up for a full season!
