SEGUIN, Texas - One person is dead after a fiery crash involving an 18-wheeler in Guadalupe County.

The accident happened just after 7 a.m. on Interstate 10 and Farm-to-Market 725, outside Seguin.

Seguin Police said an 18-wheeler lost control after a blowout and caused it to go off the I-10 bridge and down an embankment onto FM 725. The semitruck then burst into flames.

Police found the driver and he was airlifted to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition. The truck's passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.

That area on I-10 and FM 725 is still closed during the investigation and cleanup. Police are asking you avoid the area if possible. An update will be sent out when the roads have reopened.
