Tom Brady: Dak Prescott has a perfect take on the GOAT

Dak Prescott is right about Tom Brady.

Say what you will about Dak Prescott, but the guy rarely says the wrong thing. In a recent interview with NBC’s Maria Taylor, Prescott put his ability to say the right thing on display when discussing Tom Brady ahead of the Buccaneers-Cowboys matchup to start the season.

Dak explains that he wasn’t a fan of Brady growing up, but rather he was a fan of Peyton Manning. Go figure. Most Bucs fans can relate to this, though. There weren’t many of us that loved the Bucs and Brady before he arrived.

In fact, many Buccaneers fans hated Brady’s guts before he was the one to lead Tampa out of the abyss last season, and that was on full display when the team announced their decision to add the former New England Patriot.

We aren’t going to expose anyone here, but everyone knew someone who was inexplicably furious that the Bucs added the best player at any position in league history.

Prescott did go on to explain how his view of Brady changed, especially in recent years. Dak specifically mentions Brady’s personality changing with the scenery, the longevity of his greatness, and the effort, and Buccaneers fans have seen this first-hand too.

It almost feels like Tom Brady is a new player now. The personality of the GOAT that lived in New England was very different than the one we see today on social media and at boat parades, and it is fair to say this stage of his career was very helpful for Brady from a public image standpoint.

Everyone hears about how hard Brady works, but seeing him do it with your team changes everything.

Much like Dak, many of our opinions on Brady have changed dramatically over the past year. How can you hate a guy that does so much to help your team?

Tom Brady has now officially cemented himself as the greatest quarterback of all time after still dominating after leaving New England, but much like Dak said, Brady has also become a lot easier to look up to and to root for over the past year, and that legacy shift is just as good for Brady as winning the Super Bowl itself.

Let’s just hope Dak is okay with losing to someone he looks up to so much.
