Stress and Pressure-How To Beat It

Too many times we let pressure situations get the better of us. A common term for that is stress and depending on it can sets us up for either success or failure.

Here are some tips to help you cut down and or prevent letting a pressure situation get you down. Let’s call them Focus Techniques.

First off… Breathe… Several hours before you undertake a stressful task try this.
Start by inhaling, then exhale through your mouth. Inhale again into your belly, then exhale again through your mouth. Do this about 30 to 40 times and inhale one more time and exhale. Then hold your breath for as long as you can.

See it…You’ve heard of visualizing… You know, playing it over in your mind. Making the right moves at the right times until it almost becomes ingrained in your muscle memory.. Visualize everything, even the desired outcome you want. a day before a big sporting event or a business meeting picture the entire scenario, right down to where you want to be.

Finally, trust your preparation.. In the heat of the moment, it’s not the time to process each individual bit of data.. Rely on your instincts that you’ve built during a week or two before the event. Don’t overthink everything you do. Remember overthinking can slow you down.
