Rumour Mongering: Kingsley Coman Dreams of Liverpool

He also might be dreaming of Manchester City, though. Or it might all be poorly sourced transfer tattle.

Over the summer, with Liverpool believed to be in the market for attacking reinforcements, a number of players were linked with an Anfield move. One of those was 25-year-old Bayern Munich forward Kingsley Coman.

In the end, nothing came of the rumours, and there was never even any real confirmation of the club’s interest from the Liverpool end. Still, Coman was linked. And having been linked before means he was always likely to be linked again.

Queue a fresh round of rumour mongering this week out of France, where Le10Sport say that after spending time at Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Bayern Munich, Coman is now dreaming of an England move.

In particular, he’s dreaming of joining either Liverpool or Manchester City. And with his contract expiring in 2023—meaning he’ll be down to the final year next summer—and the player so far resistant to a new deal, he could get his way.

Or at least that’s the story, one that at best seems highly speculative—and a rumour that some Liverpool fans will hope isn’t true due to Coman’s 2017 domestic violence charges that he subsequently pled guilty to.

And regardless the veracity of this latest round of Coman to Liverpool transfer chatter, of course, it’s also a rumour that even if there’s any truth to it isn’t going to lead to anything like a resolution for at least another ten months.
