Netflix’s Don’t Look Up Trailer Released: Film Has The Most Expensive Cast?

Netflix dropped the first trailer of its ​​science fiction black comedy film Don't Look Up Wednesday. One of the things that the viewers immediately noticed is the ensemble cast in the movie.

The movie stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence who will be working together to save the world. DiCaprio is an astronomy professor named Dr. Randall Mindy while Lawrence plays graduate student Kate Dibiasky.

Aside from DiCaprio and Lawrence, the star-studded movie includes Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Ron Perlman, Timothée Chalamet, Ariana Grande, Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Himesh Patel, Matthew Perry, and Chris Evans.

Twitter users immediately swoon over the casting. Several of them speculated that the movie was very expensive because it involved huge names from Hollywood.

"Omg the Don't Look Up cast is SOOOOO GOOD," one commented.

"DON'T LOOK UP's cast is so insane. Wtf. I'm excited," another added.

"Don't Look Up cast is insane. Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep AND Ariana Grande in one film???!!!! I will die watching!" a third user wrote.

While others were swooning over the casting. Some speculated that the film may have cost Netflix a ton of money due to the A-list cast members.

"‘Don't Look Up' cast is probably the most expensive cast Netflix has ever hired," one wrote.

"Don't Look Up is probably going to be Netflix's most expensive movie EVER, y'all seen that cast??" another wrote.

In the trailer, Dr. Mindy (DiCaprio) is hyperventilating in the comfort room. The two low-level astronomers will go on a media tour to warn everyone about the approaching comet that will destroy the Earth.

When the duo faced President Janie Orlean (Streep) and Jason Orlean (Hill), Dr. Mindy still can't control his breathing.

"Your breathing is stressing me out," Jason told Dr. Mindy.

It seemed that the government officials were not bothered by the news. The president downplayed the information telling them that they have encountered many "end of the world" meetings.

"Drought, famine, hole in the ozone. It's so boring," Jason added.

Don't Look Up is written and directed by Adam McKay. He also helmed the films The Big Short and Vice.

The film will premiere on Netflix on Dec. 24.
