Monique Samuels Says She Turned Down Offer For Real Housewives Spin-Off Show

As Bravo fans, we might not agree on everything, but the one thing that Bravoholics around the world can agree upon is the overwhelming feeling of excitement about Peacock’s Real Housewives Ultimate Girls TripWhile the title doesn’t necessarily roll off the tongue, a mash-up of fan-favorite Housewives from across the Bravo universe is exactly what the world needs right now. I know we’re all waiting with bated breath for more details. And although Bravo has yet to announce a premiere date for the first season, the second installment is already making headlines.

According to a report from Daily Mail, the second season of Real Housewives All Stars has been greenlit for Peacock, and they plan to start filming at a “top-secret location” later this month. The source claims that former cast members, including Dorinda Medley, Jill Zarin, Taylor Armstrong, Brandi Glanville, Phaedra Parks, Vicki Gunvalson, and Eva Marcille, will link up for an enviable getaway that will surely have us on the edge of our seats. This cast is excellent, and there’s no way that this mash-up will be anything short of iconic. However, there’s one former Housewife with zero interest in joining in on the fun, and that’s Monique Samuels from The Real Housewives of Potomac.

On Pay Attention, Puh-Lease!, a podcast from Hollywood Life, the former RHOP star revealed that she was invited to participate in the second iteration of All Stars but turned it down. In fact, she explained that she doesn’t ever want to return to The Real Housewives in any capacity. But why?

Of course, we all know that the mom of three is extremely busy selling essential oils, color coding binders, and running her YouTube channel. But being a busy mom isn’t the only reason she’s refusing to participate in any Housewives-adjacent shows. In the interview, Monique elaborated on her decision to step away from the franchise and turn down All Stars.

She explained, “The issue for me goes far beyond the show that I was on. It was production, it was [the] network — just the way that they handled things. I felt like it could have been done a little better. I feel like I was treated less than human in so many different ways that I was like, ‘Eh.'”

So, is there anything that Andy Cohen and the suits at Bravo could say to change her mind? Nope! In the interview, Monique adamantly proclaimed that she would never return.

“The whole entire landscape of that show is very stressful. It’s very negative. I don’t feel like sitting around arguing with a bunch of women. I’m just over that,” she explained.

The fact that Monique was even invited to participate in All Stars might come as a surprise for some. Earlier this year, you might remember that she claimed to be blackballed by Bravo after season 5’s explosive drama. She explained at the time, “I was not even getting press opportunities. They tried to ban me from doing press. It was just craziness. I was like, the disrespect! I just felt like they were treating me less than a human.”

While many former Housewives are desperate to claw their way back onto our screens, Monique seems content with leaving her tumultuous Housewives days in the past. That bridge was burned after season 5, and for Monique, it doesn’t seem like it should ever be rebuilt.
