Xbox One Controllers Will Get Xbox Series X Controller Features Soon

Xbox One controllers are about to get a neat upgrade for free as Microsoft is working on porting the new features found on the Xbox Series X|S controllers to their last-gen counterparts. In a new post on Xbox Wire, Microsoft revealed that it is bringing Dynamic Latency Input and Bluetooth Low Energy to the old controllers, including the Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, and Xbox Adaptive Controllers via a firmware update.

"After installing the firmware update, these controllers will remember one Bluetooth host (e.g., smartphone) and one Xbox Wireless host (e.g., Xbox console), so you can quickly and seamlessly switch between previously connected devices with a simple double tap of the pair button," reads the Xbox wire post.

The new update for improving Bluetooth should come in handy for those who like to use their controllers across a variety of devices. With the Xbox ecosystem now also including support for PCs, Xbox wireless controller sales have been topping the charts.

The old Xbox One controllers are also getting support for Dynamic Latency Input, which drastically reduces the controller's responsiveness when playing on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

"Dynamic Latency Input delivers controller inputs more efficiently to your Xbox Series X|S console for a more responsive gaming experience and seemingly instantaneous action," reads the post.

The firmware update is available to Alpha Skip-Ahead and Alpha users on the Xbox Insider program, and should be available for all users soon enough. Microsoft is also bringing in more variants of the Xbox Series X|S controllers to India with the Aqua Shift Special Edition and Forza Horizon 5 Limited Edition controllers.
