Halo Infinite leaker claims game will have 23 maps at launch
The long-awaited release of Halo Infinite is coming later this year, and fans can’t wait to see what it has to offer. Now, a leaker has hinted there will be an impressive 23 multiplayer maps to dive into at launch.
Halo Infinite is one of the year’s most anticipated games, with the community itching to get their hands on Master Chief’s latest adventure. With the much-speculated release date now confirmed, attention can turn to the game itself.
We already know that Infinite will be launching without Forge and co-op Campaign, but according to a new leak that doesn’t mean that it will be short on content on release day.
Dataminer Surasia4 posted on Twitter that Halo Infinite’s Multiplayer will come with a whopping 23 different maps on day one, despite it also launching as a standalone free-to-play game.
They said that the large number of maps were found to have assets in the game’s files, and will be spread across the classic Arena modes as well as Big Team Battle.
It isn’t clear from the tweets whether these will all be brand new maps designed for Halo Infinite, or if 343 will be bringing back some classics from older games as well.
Fans were excited at the prospect of having so many arenas to try out at launch. Reddit user TheVictor1st said, “23 maps would be amazing if true. I think if they’re all decent-good, I think it might take off the burn that fans are feeling with co-op and Forge being delayed.”
In a later tweet, the same leaker also hinted that the next flight will take place sometime in October. This is where players are given hands-on time with the game to provide the developers with valuable feedback ahead of launch.
Given that September sees the addition of Halo: ODST into the Master Chief Collection, fans feel that an October flight could “make sense” as that would give both room to breathe without taking focus away from each other.
It’s worth noting that the leaker doesn’t show any screenshots to back up the claims, so it’s hard to gauge how accurate they are at this time.
